KU scholarship; The University of Kansas is a public research university with its main campus in Lawrence, Kansas, United States. KU is classified as one of the universities with very high research activity.


That being said, the University of Kansas is offering merit scholarships to students with academic excellence entering the fall semester.

Additionally, the KU scholarship is renewable for up to four years, so long as students maintain a particular GPA at KU.

KU Scholarship Value (For International Students)

The University of Kansas International Scholarships are valued as follows;

  • i. International Excellence: $25,000+/year (Required: 3.5+ GPA)
  • ii. International Merit: $9,000/year (Required: 3.75-4.00 GPA)
  • iii. International Distinction: $6,000/year (Required: 3.5-3.74 GPA)
  • iv. International Achievement: $3,000/year (Required: 3.25-3.49 GPA)


The University of Kansas will provide $100,000 to outstanding candidates for the academic year 2022/2023 in the USA.

Eligibility And How To Apply For The KU Scholarship

Generally, to be considered for the KU scholarship, you must 

i. have a minimum high school GPA of 3.25

  • i). Proof of high school graduation particular to your country.
  • ii). Academic records in the form of unofficial transcripts.
  • iii). A copy of the biographical info page on your passport.

  • V). SAT or ACT scores.

Language Requirement: Also, candidates must show evidence of official proof of English proficiency via submission of SAT or ACT scores.

For The KU International Excellence Scholarship

Candidates are expected to;

 a) Submit a complete application for admission to KU with all required materials before January 10th to be eligible for the KU scholarship.

The KU International Excellence Award application will be open from December 1st, 2022 through January 20th, 2023.

b) Secondly, eligible admitted students will receive an invitation email to apply. the following are contained in the Complete application :

    – Official proof of English proficiency.

    – A résumé or CV that includes all extracurricular activities, leadership, service, and awards, and explanations of three included activities and why they are meaningful to you.

    – Two letters of recommendation.

    – SAT or ACT scores, if available.

    – A 500-word essay on the topic of your choice, however, the following are recommended:
